In 1913, Meret Oppenheim was born in Charlottenburg (now Berlin, Germany) into a German-Swiss family with a Jewish background. She mainly grew up in Switzerland and began to study in Paris in 1933.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\t

Oppenheim becomes a member of the surrealist group around Andr\u00e9 Breton:\u00a0 <\/span>Man Ray photographed her for his cycle of paintings \u201c\u00c9rotique voil\u00e9e\u201d, making her known as the \u201cMuse of the Surrealists.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>However ,above all, Oppenheim manages to create a piece that will quickly become a symbol and primary example of Surrealism with her fur-covered coffee cup \u201cD\u00e9jeuner en fourrure\u201d (\u201cBreakfast in Fur\u201d) in 1936.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n
